Visual Memories

I don’t understand this Marketing question and need help to study.

Find one of your favorite photographs. Describe or upload the photo in your initial post. Discuss the emotional response you have when you look at your photo. How do your memories and experiences affect your perception of the image? Would it affect others viewers in the same way? Why is this important to consider when using images to communicate?

*Remember— Analysis requires that you substantiate your ideas with quotes from academic sources and experts in the field. Analysis without substantiated evidence is opinion. Use your etextbook, another academic article or source, or a career or real-life example to support your analysis points in your initial discussion post to demonstrate your full comprehension of the topics.

FIN/419 Time Value of Money calculations

I don’t know how to handle this Business question and need guidance.

I need these 5 questions answered on the attached Excel spreadsheet.

Calculate the following time value of money problems using Microsoft® Excel®:

  1. If we place $8,592.00 in a savings account paying 7.5 percent interest compounded annually, how much will our account accrue to in 9.5 years?
  2. What is the present value of $992 to be received in 13.5 years from today if our discount rate is 3.5 percent?
  3. If you bought a stock for $45 dollars and could sell it fifteen years later for three times what you originally paid. What was your return on owning this stock?
  4. Suppose you bought a house for $3,250,000 to make it a nursing home in the future. But you have not committed to the project and will decide in nine years whether to go forward with it or sell off the house. If real estate values increase annually at 1.5%, how much can you expect to sell the house for in nine years if you choose not to proceed with the nursing home project?
  5. If your daughter wants to earn $215,000 within the next twenty-three years and the salaries grow at 4.45% per year. What salary should she start to reach her goal?

1:

This week you have learned about the basic models of motivation and how leadership traits and behaviors can impact the organizations’ effectiveness and performance. To demonstrate how motivation and leadership traits and behaviors are applied in the workplace, this week’s discussion forum will involve researching an article using one of the following sources:

  • USA Today (www.usatoday.com)
  • Wall Street Journal (www.wsj.com)
  • New Your Times (www.nytimes.com)
  • Forbes (www.forbes.com)
  • Bloomberg Business Week (www.bloomberg.com)
  • Inc. Magazine (www.inc.com)
  • Economist (www.economist.com)
  • Entrepreneur (www.entrepreneur.com)
  • Harvard Business Review- (www.hbr.org)

Your task is to choose a current article (published in last 60 days) from one of the above-listed sources that relate to how managers are able to effectively lead and motivate.

  • As a manager, would you prefer the people you manage to be extrinsically or intrinsically motivated? What type of leadership behaviors would you want to emulate and why? Explain your thoughts.
  • What key points in the article support your statements?

2:

A simple change in the punctuation of a sentence, or the placement of structure can alter the meaning of the sentence itself. Perhaps you have come across the following example before:

  • Let’s eat, Grandma! (In this sentence, there is an excitement about eating with one’s beloved Grandma.)
  • Let’s eat Grandma! (In this sentence Grandma is the main meal!)

Utilizing appropriate punctuation and mechanics ensures that the right message is received by a reader. Read the following article:

http://www.bbc.com/capital/story/20180723-the-commas-that-cost-companies-millions

Share your thoughts about this article, and the various examples given about how punctuation cost millions of dollars, as well as someone’s life. Did anything surprise you in the article? Can you share an example of how punctuation has perhaps confused a message you have written to someone, or perhaps confused you as a reader?

3:

There are two questions to this discussion; answer both questions.

Question A

The textbook says that the common anesthesia time units are 15 minutes, but that some carriers use 30 minutes. Not mentioned in the book is the fact that some carriers require the actual number of minutes rather than increments. Why do you think there are differences? When you respond to your fellow students’ posts, do you agree with your fellow students’ and why or why not?

Question B

The textbook says that Medicare requires the use of CPT anesthesia codes whereas some third party payers require the use of surgery codes for anesthesia. How does a coder find out if the third party payer requires anesthesia or surgical codes for anesthesia services?

Moral Decision-Making

There are many different moral theories, each of which provides a different way of analyzing the moral dilemmas we face in our lives. These moral theories provide a systematic framework for making reasoned moral decisions.

This week, you will write about a time in which you had to make a difficult moral decision.

  • Which moral theory did you use?
  • What steps did you take to make the decision?
  • What was your reasoning process?

2:

Is the U.S. Population Unhealthy?

Health-related behavior represents a prime target for improving the nation’s health. Today’s leading cases of disease and death are preventable chronic diseases (heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and asthma), and behavioral risk factors play a critical role in their development and management. Obesity is common, serious and costly problem in the U.S. Obesity affected about 93.3 million of US adults in 2015~2016. Fast food consumption has been linked to higher caloric intake and greater risk for obesity. As an increasing number of consumers are dining at fast food restaurants, policy makers are turning their attention to environmental and policy approaches that influence consumer choice, including mandated calorie menu labels in fast food restaurants. The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act included a provision requiring restaurants with more than 20 locations nationwide to post calorie information at the point of purchase.

Watch the following video: Supersize me

Explore the effectiveness of healthy living education.

Include each of the following aspects in the discussion:

  • Do you think the posting of calorie counts will change behavior when ordering food?
  • Has it changed your behavior?
  • Suggest education that might influence diet and food choices
  • Discuss if insurance premiums and health care charges should reflect a person’s unhealthy life style

3:

Government and Being Healthy

There is significant debate over how far to take population health. Detractors complain about nanny states (nanny state means a government that tries to give too much advice or make too many laws about how people live their lives, especially about eating, smoking, or drinking alcohol), They take no offense to encouraging healthful behaviors but are uncomfortable with what they see as an infringement on personal freedoms. For instance, should everyone have to have low sodium foods to protect people who have salt-sensitive diseases? Do people have the right to buy supersized sugary sodas? Those who promote regulating these items note that it is unfair for someone who maintains a healthy weight, exercises, and eats right be required to subsidize health care costs for those who do not.

Provide your thoughts on mandating healthful behaviors.

Include the following aspects in the discussion:

  • Should manufacturers bear the costs of providing healthful food choices?
  • Should consumers be required to pay more for unhealthful items?
  • Should consumers be required to pay for disease/illness related to life style?
  • Discuss if health care should be provided for those who cause their own illness/disease?

Personal Statement for school

I’m trying to learn for my Resume Writing class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

I am receiving my bachelor’s in Psychology in May 2020, and my goal is to go to a post-baccalaureate program to do all the prerequisite courses needed for Pre-med, then hopefully get accepted to an medical school where I can eventually become a Psychiatrist. I have always had a high GPA, always spent days including weekends studying, or meeting up with groups. I am a great learner, listener and leader. I have volunteered at many elementary schools in my past with special educated kids, supervised and been a teacher’s assistant. I currently volunteer at a hospital. I’ve always been interested in Psychology, I find it so fascinating and I truly just want to help people in life. I give good advice I love listening to my friends and family.

So here are just a few things about myself to help you form the personal statement. This is important it is for my application to a program at a private university! Please answer the given question and include anything you think is right. You can give me a chat if you’d like to know any information about me, that you think would be helpful for the paper. Thank you so much!!!

How have your experiences contributed to your decision to pursue a career in healthcare?
