You will then trace back from that article at least one citation to an even earlier article. All three articles/books/publications must have a well-developed discussion based on the examples provided. I am expecting between 2-3 pages with college-level writing and use of either MLA or APA format. Obviously, you need at least (3) citations for this.
One of the fundamental skills you will need is how to effectively research from scholarly, rather than just popular, sources. Lamar University’s online library is a great way to retrieve journal articles.
In both the Week 2 and in the Course Materials and Resources tab I have included links to the Lamar University online library, a nice article on identifying refereed (i.e. more credible) articles, a list of communication-related journals from the National Communication Association and a whole bunch of links on annotated bibliographies, how to cite and links to writing hints. You will probably have more success with this assignment if you read the guides and materials before you begin.
Start with your area of interest and then focus in on a topic within that area to research. Find an article, using the Lamar University online library. Create an annotated bibliography entry for that article. Then go into the works cited/references for that article and find an article that that particular article references or cites. Find that article in the Lamar University online library and create a annotated bibliography entry for that article. Finally, go into that second article’s reference list/works cited and identify and find an article that the second article cites. Create a annotated bibliography entry for that third article.
You should then submit your three entry annotated bibliography on the assignment. Please be sure to use either APA or MLA format, and be sure that your citation format is correct. You might even include the three works cited lists that you have so that we can trace the lineage of your annotated bibliography reference.
You will be assessed based on having (3) complete, comprehensive entries, your formatting and obviously grammar and syntax appropriate for college-level writing.
