Most importantly, focus on using academic terms, not everyday terms. Include 20 quality terms from the course Underline and bold all quality course terms. 1 point per term 600 words (min) Submit your Self-Evaluation as an attachment

Directions: Write a 600 words assessment of the Speech to Entertain you presented in class. Incorporate 20 terms, that were used and formally defined in class, in your assessment. Underline and bold those 20 terms AND include a brief definition of those terms.

HINT: if you are using a term that does not need a definition (such as “speech” or “outline” or “note card” or “practice” or etc, you should not expect to earn a point for it). You will earn 1 point for each impressive term that you use. Below are some suggested areas to address in your self-evaluation.

The ultimate goal of this critical thinking assignment is for you to reflect and learn from your speaking experience so that you can improve in future speeches. Here are some ideas to get you started. These are just ideas and NOT intended to be an outline for your paper.

These prompts are also NOT to be used to write a Q&A or bullet point style paper.

How will this speech experience impact your future speeches (be specific)?

GRADING RUBRIC Content: This paper is a self-assessment and your ability to apply your new knowledge to your personal performance as a public speaker. Be sure to use the required terms.

The purpose is to help you identify the areas you can capitalize on and the areas you need to develop; and to help you be a more critical listener and evaluator. Your content may also include your personal feelings about your speech, your classmates speeches, or anything else you think I should know about you, in light of the course concepts. Your content should reflect these things. Be honest and reflective. Meet the word minimums and use your course terms as described in the directions.

Mechanics: Correct paper format, sentence structure, spelling and grammar. Creative and intelligent wording (use the thesaurus), well-crafted ideas, sentences and paragraphs, with plenty of style and concrete details. You may write in first-person, but avoid slang and a casual “conversational” style.
