Team term report

The team term report, which will be discussed in more detail early in the term, is to be submitted by your team.

The topic of the report is the changes that are taking place with recruitment, in particular online recruiting. You should examine existing research documents such as professional and academic journals, not the course text, and address such issues as:

  • what have been the historical methods of recruitment?
  • are there any trends with respect to changes in recruiting? If so, what are they and what are the causes? Are these newer methods effective? How is effectiveness of recruitment methods assessed in organizations?
  • what are the implications of changes in recruitment processes for HRM professionals’ roles in terms of knowledge and skill for HRM professionals?
  • what does the future hold for recruitment?
  • How might future changes in recruitment processes affect HRM professionals?
  • Please do not conduct any interviews or surveys in completing this project. Please limit your use of the internet and focus on research that has been published in academic and professional sources.

Your report should be about seven to nine pages in length and must be properly cited and referenced using the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.). Please be sure to provide a brief introduction to your paper as well as a summary and a conclusions section. Your report should be double-spaced and should use Times New Roman 12, Calibri 12, or some similar and easy-to-read pitch and font. Please provide a title page, a table of contents, use headings throughout the report, and provide an introduction and a summary and conclusions sections. You must make sure that your work is fully and appropriately cited and referenced.

The report will be graded in terms of the extent to which the issues raised in the five above questions are addressed. Please pay attention to spelling and grammar. Poor spelling and grammar can result in lost points – to a maximum of 50%.

This Team Term Report is worth 25% of the final grade and is due at 1:30 p.m. on August 16, 2021 – please submit to me as a Word attachment at jeff.young1@smu.ca.

Please note that Individual Team Term Reports are not accepted.

Please note that it is not necessary to meet in person to hold your Discussions, complete Assignments, or work on the Team Term Report. You should use the areas that are provided on Brightspace to complete your work. Please do not hold Discussions on Facebook or other forms of social media because I cannot monitor and grade your Team Discussions when they are conducted there – please use the areas made available to you in Brightspace for this course.

    Peer Assessment Grading Criteria

Individual teams can choose to engage in peer evaluation if the team members so desire. There are numerous models of peer evaluation so any teams wishing to complete peer evaluations should consult with the course professor before doing so.
