Step 3: Practicum Showcase

At the end of the semester, we will be holding a practicum showcase where the Division of Student Affairs, current practicum supervisors, prospective supervisors, and other key HESA stakeholders will be invited to learn more about your practicum experience. You will develop a 5 minute short “elevator” pitch discussing what you learned from your practicum experience. To do this, you will use a single “poster”-style slide that has all of the comment for the presentation on it..

Here some information about my internship/ practicum higher education and student affairs.

Learning Goals

Goal 1: Assist in organizing a webinar on rural education and communities in the context of COVID-19.

Why?  The goal is to assist a webinar on “Rural education and COVID-19 in local communities”. We will work as one team to organize the webinar, and a variety of people will attend from across the globe. The webinar’s main goal is to access challenges and opportunities for rural education and Covid-19 in local communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need to educate the audience on at large scale, and webinar is one of the most effective ways to educate the public. Plat form is to strategize the task and to reach out to the people. Furthermore, all the participants, including guest speakers, teachers, and leaders, will contribute to the webinar. To run a public webinar on rural education and the condition of communities will helping raise awareness of the problem they are facing during pandemics. Slides, whiteboard videos, and discussions by different peoples help the education authorizes and local government as both are the main bodies that can solve public problems.

How to evaluate?  Assisting and reorganizing a webinar on education and communities during COVID-19 is a great task, especially for rural students and communities. Around the globe, more than 61 percent of the students are affected due to the Pandemic. Schools were closed, and according to United Nation, more than 1.6 billion students were out of school. Students of rural areas were more affected because of the Pandemic as they lack the facilities like the internet and libraries. Ask of the internet facility was not the only reason, but the loss of family income of communities also affected the education system. A webinar can help to discuss the issues faced by rural students and communities during COVID-19. Rising voice for those who lack basic health and education facilities such as health care, internet, and libraries.

These goals will help to discuss the disaster situation of the areas. Suggestions will help to improve the condition and innovative ideas discussed to improve the facilities of some respective areas. In many cases, the administration will in touch with the student after listening to their problem and will provid them assistance. This accomplish the purpose of the webinar, and my goals to arrange it will fulfilled.

Goal 2. Assist in a research project related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment in the context of COVID-19.

Why? I chose to assist in a research project related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment. In the context of COVID-19, there was a great change in the whole education system, leading to the redesign of the new curriculum for the student. The research project will be about means of education and instructions related to students. It will give a new suggestion in the education system that will help to design a better online educating system.

How to evaluate? For this project, I will do a task to revise the instructions for the online study plan. Instruction includes a comparative analysis of the study to meet the requirement of post-COVID-19 and during pandemic conditions. I will do my best to complete my task with the mixed output. Most of my projects play an important role and help to revise the plans.

Why? I chose this practical task for exploring the requirements of 21st-century education standards. I will study the successful models of schooling that will develop according to the demands of the future. A lot of countries around the world are raising the standards of their higher education. I will assist them in the clerical activities and acknowledge the new standards of schooling programs. In this fast-changing world, the same curriculum for many years cannot be sufficient to meet future challenges. The most prevalent problem of the education system is the routine cognitive skills of the teachers. In this world, the student’s teachers need to learn the upcoming teaching techniques through digital equipment. The education system of the country in this century should be dynamic and transforming with the coming challenges.

Why to evaluate? The projects of developing leaders will produce a better result for achieving the international standard of schooling. The developing schools have defined their responsibilities and providing access to the appropriate professional. The preparation of school teachers for the 21st century is the foremost important goal of the education system. I will be assessing that; the teachers need to learn more than students. We need a more competent teacher than ever to equip our coming generation with practical knowledge. We need to recruit a new graduate who can teach 21st-century skills to students. Along with this development, we need the mechanism of demand and supply in this economic system the demands of the 21st-century work on the advanced standards of schooling.

Progress Towards Goals Memo

The webinar will be organized for rural education in the context of ongoing COVID-19.  The students are working as a team and accessing all the challenges and opportunities for rural education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, billions of students all over the world suffered due to the lockdowns. The webinar will be organized to provide online education facilities to the student living in rural backgrounds. Organizing a webinar on specific topics and subjects is the most effective teaching knowledge method to educate peoples.

The webinar on rural education and the communities’ condition will help raise awareness for education tools in the Coronavirus pandemic. The discussion on the various topics by the professionals helps the student in understanding the complicated subjects. The project of assisting and organizing a webinar during the COVID-19 is an excellent task. The students living in the rural areas have very little access to education facilities.

We are a team of six graduate students creating a webinar on March 20, 2021 at 9:30 am with three guest speakers. Two speakers from Nibal and one from the USA. We created a flyer, and we met with the group every two weeks to update with that. My supervisor gave me a role to create Team’s link for the webinar, and I did it by a link as a test and sent it to my supervisor to check everything before I send it to all people.

According to our plans, we will arrange an effective webinar that will help to fulfill our goals. Moreover, we will create a plan to promote our webinar on social media. I had two interviews with one school leader and one teacher from rural areas to gather information about how Covid-19 affected the rural area and talked to my supervisor about the interviews. As a team, we will have a meeting to discuss the presentation PowerPoint in the webinar this week. I have some difficulty contacted people in the rural area to find three guest speakers. I talked with teachers in the rural area, so they told me we could not give a speech for 15mins; the other one asked what the speaker’s benefits are.

  During this pandemic, more than 2 billion students were out of school. This pandemic more affected the students of the rural. The schools were closed, and many students in rural backgrounds even lacked the facilities of online education.

The webinar organized was arranged to assist the students in comprehending the curriculum complexities during the ongoing pandemic. The internet inevitability in the rural areas made difficult for the students from rural background to get instructions and guidance from the online webinars. The webinar helped the students in understanding the complex subjects of the curriculum. The discussion panels discussed the different topics online and engaged the students to ask the topics. During the pandemic webinar for education, the most feasible education facility can help the students understand the various education topics.

  The secession in the webinar focuses on the topics of understanding the curriculum designed for the students. The professional experts guide the student in different ways on understanding the subjects through the use of the internet. The professionals in different panels discuss the matter that is the main hurdle in educating the rural communities. The secessions will help the student in education in this time of the lockdown.

The cohort of educational leadership programs helped the students understand how to learn during a pandemic, trained mainly to organize the online webinar on different subjects. They were assigned different tasks to perform the various activities—the students were given the basic timeline of the webinar to discuss various topics.

I will do a task to revise the instructions for the online study plan. The educational leadership programs trained the student in managing the educational actives in the pandemic. The webinar arrangement will help the students to engage with experts regarding the understanding of their subjects. The students arranged the seminar, and this webinar mainly focused on the students from rural backgrounds. The webinar will be held in March, and the webinar agenda plan to discuss the various topics of the curriculum that the students find difficult to understand.

 The weekly journal will summarize the webinar’s performance and discuss the topics in writings. The journal will also make the students understand the matters more effectively.

These goals will help to discuss the situation of the areas. Suggestions will help improve the condition and innovative ideas discussed to improve some respective areas’ facilities. In many cases, the administration will contact the student after listening to their problem and will provide them assistance. It will accomplish the purpose of the webinar and will fulfill the goals.

NOTE; THIS webinar has been post bone to April 21, because one of the guest speaker has a reltive death and he could not show up so we forward it to April.

Also, regards the other goals I will have a meeting soon with my superviour so I will update it for what is going on.
