I. Introduction (1 page)
Provide an introduction to your paper. Give an overview of what will be examined, Micro –
therapeutic intervention chosen, ethical and cultural considerations, and brief review of the
outcome (this is similar to an abstract but a bit more detailed). Macro – environmental –
social forces.
II. History and Assessment (2 pages)
• Use any of the formats for a biopsychosocial utilized in other classes
• The emphasis here is to provide a detailed culturally sensitive/competent assessment
(rurality paradigm) of your client including assessment of:
The presenting problem, such as, a history of the presenting problem, and a definition of the problem cultural strengths and resiliencies in diagnosis of the problem using the DSM-5.
• Environmental Assessment using Rurality paradigm : Economic forces
2) Political forces
3) Social Cultural forces effect on quality of life
III. Theoretical Orientation/ Literature Review (4 pages)
Select an intervention that is appropriate for your client’s issue.
Describe the tenets and constructs of the theory.
What are the multicultural strengths and weaknesses of this theory?
Address how the diversity and resilience (rurality paradigm handout) of the client is considered. Provide a literature review that discusses the use of your intervention with your particular issue you are working with your client to alleviate. Your literature review must contain a minimum of 15 references including a minimum of 5 peer reviewed articles. Textbooks and lectures can also be used.
IV. Methods (Engagement, Intervention, Evaluation) (3pages)
- Develop a treatment plan with your client that reflects issues noted in the biopsychosocial.
- A detailed explanation the intervention, including the rationale for using it with your client.
- Present documentation (chart in appendix) each session with the client. Make sure that
treatment notes reflect issues identified on the treatment plan.
- Discuss how you evaluated progress with your client using a Single Systems ABA design. Note any referrals for ancillary services (such as physicians, or other therapists). –
- Discuss how you applied this theoretical intervention to your case. What are the strengths/limitations of this theory and/or intervention?
- Discuss the ethical and cultural fit of the intervention using the Rurality Paradigm including a
Social Forces Evaluation. Discuss termination with the client; V. Conclusion (1 page)
The conclusion should be a brief reaction to what you learned in working with the client:
The conclusion should also include a discussion of the systems that the client interacts with
RURALITY PARADIGM (for example: social, justice, legal, medical) and the impact of
the clients socio-economic status on/from these systems. Social Forces: economic, political
and environmental impact. What could be done differently, what did you do well, etc.?
