Many of you live in cities, and for those of you who do not, you likely visit cities for various reasons. What are some of the fundamental reasons that you live in or visit a city? Would you define these reasons primarily as economic, social, cultural, etc.?

Hi All,
According to me the major difference between cities and rural areas is the offered and availability of facilities and amenities. Primarily, it is Human tendency to keep looking for betterment and upgrading the available resources. So, the migration can be the indication of various factors, economic, cultural, or social. Well, I use to live in a town, where there was limited access to the facilities available however, after my grade 10, I decided to move to a city where I could get better education with superior quality. To be honest that was not the only reason I moved to city. Freedom, being the imperative factor influenced my decision too. For me, I looked at it as Economic freedom, Cultural freedom, and Social Freedom.
Economic Freedom- When I moved in a big city, I noticed that I was partially independent as I was dependent for money on my parents. However, a lot of financial resources were available to me. Well, I moved in a city to study only, however, I had a part-time job to fulfill my expenses and that made me entirely independent.
Cultural Freedom- After moving in a big city, I observed that people in big cities freely express themselves and their religion however, it was not common in the area where I moved out from. The reason was the orthodox thinking of some elderly people who still believe in class system and racism.
Social Freedom- It is inked to cultural freedom, as I mentioned earlier people in my area used to believe in class system, therefore they never got socialized with people who belong to lower class. Thus, there was always a barrier between parts of the society. Contrastingly, people in cities were well educated and they had minimal racism.
But a certain thing which I have observed is that racism was always part of the society, it could be at minimal or at humungous level. But it was always there, either in the form of class system or economic standards.
Thanks.
Hello everyone, in today’s world, everyone has a busy schedule and that is the major reason everyone goes and lives in cities because it is convenient to buy everything there such as groceries, medical facilities, education as well as for shopping and other things. we can divide the reason for migrating into cities into 3 different parts: economic, cultural and social.
Economic: In cities, we have more job opportunities there and can earn more money. as compared to urban areas, there is a good education system in cities that helps to improve poverty and unemployment rate.
Cultural: In cities, there are people from different areas and all those has different ethics and culture that can be learnt from each other.
Social: there is a large population in cities as compared to rural areas where we meet different people and talk to them to know them. Also, in cities, we have good medical facilities where we can get good treatment and medicines. In addition to this, people move into cities because of better transportation systems where they have easy access to public vehicles. But, some people visit cities just for fun such as to visit a shopping mall, to watch movies in the theatre and to visit the park or other fun places.

Hello Everyone,
At this moment I would like to bring up some reasons that i believe and look for award when we are living in cities. There different factors that can come under all the three different factors such as culture, economical and social. The first and foremost i believe the cities are very widely connected to the path of development and opportunities to connect different and unique ventures which can change a person’s whole living experience. The second thing what i consider is that the benefit of living in the cities i believe people have that freedom to do whatever they want to do and accomplish they can do that and also i think that those religious and backward thinking energies are less stronger in the society. The last when it comes it culture you are free too practice whatever culture you like, whatever religion you like , whatever clothes you wanna wear if that is according to western or traditional it doesn’t matter .You can talk in whatever language you want to talk.
These are couple of things which i believe according to me are the first that will strike to me if i want to live in a city.
Thanks.
Amrit:
Hello everyone
I along with my family lives in Delhi, India. most of the families who lives in the rural or suburban places have started shifting their residence in the main cities because of the fact they want to improve their economic position and their social status. One of the major reason why people are moving to cities is the fact they are exposed to wider work opportunities in cities if we compare it to rural areas. Even if the rural person is skilled workers still he would find very difficult to find the job for his required qualification, and by any chance if he/she gets the job it would not be the same amount that workers of city are getting, moreover it is also seen that people in rural area compromise with their skills and take under-qualified job with less pay rate just to keep their family survive.
In contrast to cities, scenario is completely opposite. Due to the fact, cities being developed, there is a large pool of job opportunities for such people. Moreover, pay-rate in the cities for the highly skilled and trained workers are high, making it a attractive place for most scientists, business executives and engineers even the general labour are happy with the pay-rate they get for their casual work.
It is also believed that living in cities improves people standard of living. As people here have access to better healthcare centre and multi culture people they are able to improve their lifestyle.
