For this second case response, consider the case of the Ford Pinto. As the CEO of Ford, what would you have done in this situation? Do you keep the flawed design? Allow the engineers to redesign the car? Something else?
In writing your answer, make sure you:
– Relate your answer to one of the theories of corporate social responsibility we’ve learned in this module (e.g. Stockholder Theory or Stakeholder Theory).
– determine who the stakeholders are in the situation.
– consider a couple of alternative courses of action not mentioned in the case.
– briefly examine the ethics of those alternatives using an ethical theory (we learned about these in Module 1).
