WTAMU management Facilitating the Workflow Question

I’m working on a management discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Discussion Post – Path-Goal Theory requires leaders to create an ideal formula (leader/follower/task characteristics) that motivates employees to reach desired goals. Given that leaders often have multiple subordinates, should the leader in your current or expected workplace design their formula based on each individual subordinate or rather a create a general formula that would apply to the group of subordinates underneath them? Why or why not

Instructions: Just needs to be 3/4 of a page to 1 page in length. No proper reference or format required.

Assignment: This is a two-part prompt:

1. Keeping your own workplace (or intended workplace in mind), create what you believe would be an ideal formula for a leader to motivate their subordinates to achieve desired goals. Specifically, be certain to spend some time (perhaps a paragraph dedicated to each) discussing the leader behavior that would be engaged in (e.g. directive, participative, etc.), subordinate characteristics (need for affiliation, preference for structure, etc), and lastly anticipated task characteristics (repetitive, weak group norms, etc.). Be sure to describe the workplace setting and the position of the leader that you are creating this formula for. For example, in an academic setting an achievement-oriented leader behavior may be ideal when followers have an internal locus of control and the task is characterized by weak formal authority. As with all written assignments, please be sure to refer to the course materials to support your opinions in some manner during this paper.

2. Please take a moment to complete the Path-Goal Leadership Questionnaire for this module. Do your actual results coincide with what you expected your leadership style to be? If so, do you believe this measure could be implemented in your past/present/future workplace? If not, why do you believe that is the case?
