In your own words and using your own original figures or drawings (you can use my PyMOL files for Papers 5 & 7), describe the structural and mechanistic aspects of Papers 5-8 (Part II) of BCH4122, and how they relate to the future of Synthetic Biology.
Grading will be based on:
- The quality, concision (be concise!), and clarity of your report.
- Your goal is to weave a coherent story connecting the structure and mechanism pertaining to the four papers, and NOT to simply paraphrase the answers to the questions discussed in class. Parroting my words back to me does not demonstrate your understanding of the course material!
- To receive a top mark you will need to make explicit connections between the different structures and mechanisms. This can include connections to the papers in Part I of the course (i.e. relating to the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology).
- Be careful to check your spelling and grammar, as careless mistakes leave an impression that you’re report has been rushed (;p).
- Pay attention to the precision of your language, and endeavour to use terminology appropriate for a 4th year course.
