For this assignment, please select a quote from one of the longform journalism pieces below. This selection should not be shorter than a sentence but not longer than a paragraph. Look for a quote that speaks to something larger than the particularly details of the case in question. For example, if you’re choosing Michelle McNamara’s essay, look for a quote that refers to an issue that is not exclusive to McNamara’s hunt for the Golden State Killer.

After you select your quote, write a brief annotation that discusses the importance of your selection to 1) the overall arc of the source article and 2) a broader topic of interest in true crime. If you have a topic in mind for your GA, it may be helpful to look for a quote that deals with the ideas you are developing.
