Write a 3 page (minimum) essay discussing the issues of excavation and rightful owner of works of art that are discovered. Include your opinion on whether the original discovery were simply discovery or theft AND share your thoughts on whether or not the works from antiquity should be returned to their country of origin. Consider the problems that may arise for works of art currently “owned” by museums or private collectors that have poorly documented ownership over the years. Use 1 – 2 examples from the provided readings to support your arguments.
