ESSAY
Write a 1,000 word essay on ANY of
the following topics:
1. To what extent can Dickens be
described as a Marxist writer? Discuss.
2. Fact, fiction or text? Analyze
one post-millennium novel in the light of recent French literary and
philosophical theory.
3. With reference to two 20th century
writers, discuss the extent to which their work
Succeeded in making an art of
political writing
4. With reference to current theory
and/or cultural context illustrate the ways in which a write might challenge
the conventions separating reader from author
The manner in which you structure
your analysis is totally dependent on you, and it should not exceed 1,000 words
(excluding abstract, references, bibliography, appendix, and table of contents).
As a guide,
• Your work must be fully referenced
in the Harvard referencing style
• Your work must include an
abstract, introduction, body and conclusion.
• You must refer to recently
published Academic and medical journals, newspaper articles, economic data and books
when conducting your research
• Your analysis should be written up
to at least a 65% standard.
The essay would be assessing the following,
• Your research skills
•Your written English skills
•Your ability to conduct analysis on
non-readily available data, and write concise but high quality reports and
analysis
•Your knowledge of Politics related
subjects
•Your ability to write structured
and accurate reports and analysis, especially when detailed assessment
guidelines are not provided
