Case Study: During COVID-19
We are in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis, and you and your team
have begun working from home due to the governor’s recent shelter in
place order. There are no technological barriers to doing your job
remotely; the only tools you need are a laptop computer and the
internet. However, your team does not have a formal work from home
policy in place, so everyone is approaching it slightly differently.
You decide that it is time to start a discussion around establishing a
formal work from home policy for your team, and, if that goes well, for
your office and for your company. Your strategy involves adapting your
message for three groups: your peers, your supervisor, and the general
public.
OPTION 1 – To Your Peers (Group): You decide to send
a brief email (1-2 paragraphs) to the four people on your team to learn
more about their remote working experiences so far and share your
thoughts about developing a formal remote work policy.
