So, I basically have to write a “discovery paper” on the question, “What is Truth?”
MLA format 4-5 pages long. Well-organized and researched (through encyclopedia articles, academic articles, journals, and the Internet). Raise important questions.
I definitely want to answer and provide religious examples of: what is truth? Is truth relative? Is there such a thing as absolute truth/universal truth? What is subjective truth?
You can add anything else you see fit! This is just what I have brainstormed so far.
I was thinking to include religious scenes from the bible for this paper. For example, when asking, “Is truth relative?” we can talk about how truth for Pilate is relative. Truth for him was that Jesus was innocent, but the truth for the Jews was that Jesus was guilty. Basically, how relative truth can be dangerous and Jesus was a victim of it. And as for Jesus, He believed in absolute truth, and that His voice is the truth. I believe in absolute truth. I think that relative truth is ridiculous and can be extremely harmful.
Since this is a discovery paper, it has to somewhat relate to my journey of religion. Before this class, I didn’t know whether or not I believed in God. But, it definitely helped me find my faith. (You don’t have to focus too much on this. I can add it myself. I just need help with the religious aspect.) Throughout the course, we had to look at how ethics are everywhere, including in religion. So, I want help with how ethics come into play with the concept of truth. Can definitely mention ethics during the relative truth part.
Thank you so much!!
