Western Legal Traditions Operative Today Discussion

I’m trying to learn for my Business class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

Option #1
In the mini-case study about AT&T discusses the various anti-trust actions faced by the company over the years, and the manner in which was eventually broken up.  Today there are several globally dominant technology companies with virtual monopolies in their industries, for example, Amazon, Google (with YouTube), and Facebook (with WhatsApp and Oculus VR).  These companies have been criticized for anti-competitive practices and limiting consumer choice.

Based on your reading of Chapter 6, along with outside research, make an argument as whether or not these companies should be subject to anti-trust action and broken up.  You can also make an argument for some of them to be broken up, but not others.

Option #2
The two major western legal traditions operative today are Civil Law and Common Law.  Using your understanding of these two legal systems, and any outside research you chose to undertake, make an argument as to which system is better for business.  Specifically, if an American company is planning on expanding overseas would it rather go to a market that uses Civil Law or Common Law?  Why?  You can consider all other factors are equal.
