West Virginia Career and Technical Talking about Happiness Book Report

I don’t understand this Writing question and need help to study.

All of the information below should be included in your Book Report and submitted

on Canvas. Please use 14 font and double space. There is no set page minimum or

maximum, simply respond to the prompts below.

  • Discuss how your book can be used to provide a context for your
  • observations, understanding, and appreciation of the differing forms of the

comedic which you have encountered this semester. Also discuss how your

book may have helped you to understand something about the relation

between comedy and happiness. Finally, make note of any new sensibilities

you have considered as a result of this book. (Two paragraphs)

  • Include six quotes from the book you are presenting. All quotes must be four
  • to five sentences in length. Find quotes that help you to contextualize the

three sites you have visited this semester.

  • Include two additional quotes (also four to five sentences in length) from
  • scholarly sources which help to interpret and contextualize your book and

the author, and that help to present your book in a wider, interdisciplinary

context. A scholarly source is any reputable source and/or academic study

(including journals, articles, etc.). These quotes are not from the required

book you have chosen to read; they are from two independent scholarly

    studies.

  • Note: You need to write a brief analysis after each of the above eight quotes
  • which explain the writer’s thesis, or your interpretation of the writer’s thesis.

Your response should provide a wider context for the book you are

    discussing.

  • Write a one to two page synopsis of your book which highlights your own
  • interpretation and how your book has helped you understand the role of

comedy and happiness in differing cultures and subcultures. This should not

include outside sources, and should be written in your own voice.

  • Research the author (or translator) and then include a one page biography of
  • the author (or translator) which is focused on those unusual facts that are of

particular interest to you. The biography should be edited and reflected upon,

rather than a cursory “copy and paste” response.
