Reflect on these past 8- weeks. What specific topics were most interesting to you and why? What knowledge and skills will you leave with once this class is over? How do you think you might apply what you learned?post 1 : The subjects were helpful and not only in terms of working as a health care provider. But also in everyday life. Important topics that aroused interest in “defending food” The language of the book is simple and easy, and the information is easy to accept and apply in real life. The textbook answers some of the questions I look for, like low-fat products are .healthier than full-fat products and why The skills you have learned, such as the nutritional needs of humans at all stages of life. The importance of nutrients. How to feed babies and children Because they are the people who need care in their food, one of the most important stages of healthy growth is healthy food. The skill l’ve learned is that a healthcare professional needs to learn as much as possible about the foods and diets of the ethnic groups I served. Therefore, applying what you have learned in this course .is essential in my daily and practical life
Post 2 : This class was very interesting and certainly relatable. First and foremost, In Defense of Food was an incredible book! I am not much of a casual reader, but I found myself engorged in the book thanks to Pollan’s personable language. I learned a lot about the history of nutrition and the way the food industry has developed. The evolution of the Western diet of course has been accompanied by the rise of the Western diseases I see and treat every day in my career as a PA. I hope to take all that I learned in this course on nutrition to better my choices on a day to day basis as well as educate my family and patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle to lead a long and healthy life! I found myself telling my mom in the grocery store “Pollan told me to stay on the outsides of the grocery aisles because this is where the healthiest food is!”
