So as we discussed, the problem that we will be tackling with our policy brief is: The U.S. lacks an infrastructure to support the growth and utilization of telemedicine.
Why is this an important problem? Why should our healthcare organization try to solve this? What implications does this have for physicians, providers, patients, state, and federal government? We talked about the financial implications of telemedicine, reimbursement issues, the ability or lack of ability to see specific patient populations (state licensure required?), the profitability of healthcare organizations or the lack of profits with telemedicine booming throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the loss of small practices due to telemedicine. What research is published to support these claims? Our goal is to dig it up and provide solutions to this problem.
