Week Two: Assignment. Field Experience Assignment Part 1: Observation of Learning Environments

In your Week One assignment, you located images that supported a high-quality learning environment. Now, you will use 2.5 of your 5 field experience hours to observe a high-quality learning environment. You will return back to this same learning environment in Week Three to conduct an interview and share your proposed design for your own indoor and outdoor learning environment. While you are conducting your observation, please make sure to set up a time for returning in Week Three for your interview and explain what you will need to do so the teacher can schedule the time accordingly.

Then, conduct your observation of the indoor and outdoor learning environment. Observe the following
How does the learning environment support the needs of the whole child?
How do the children move throughout the space?
How do the children utilize the different indoor and outdoor learning areas?
What do you notice about how the indoor and outdoor spaces are set up?
How is the learning environment representative about the diverse needs of the students enrolled?
What elements of UDL do you see present in the design of the learning environment?
