post must be a minimum of 150 words. You can write on any subject covered in this week’s material such as a particular artwork, a style or genre, or an historical event, whether in the text, the lecture, or the Links folder for the chapter.
Express your opinion or view, or questions it raised for you. A full score is 20 points; points will be taken off for posts under word count, posts that discuss a subject in overly general terms (I should be able to tell that you read/watched the material), or posts that simply state facts without bringing in your opinion or observations.
Possible topics if you’d rather go with a prompt: (1) Discuss differences and similarities between our current political/social situation and that portrayed by Daumier’s lithograph Gargantua; or (2) choose one of the artworks in the chapter and discuss whether its message remains relevant in any way today.
