Week 1 Assignment: Kansas City Before 1920
For this assignment, please research something new you’ve learned, or are curious about, with regards to Kansas City before 1920. This could relate to any element of the city – political, social, structural, cultural, etc… We will have hit on a wide range of topics during this first week, to properly understand what life in early 20th century Kansas City was like.
If nothing has caught your interest so far, somethings to consider: KC’s Union Station, the railroad, KC’s stockyards, Ragtime, Euday Bowman, Saloons, specific area’s of Kansas City (i.e. West Bottoms), etc.. If you are stuck trying to find a topic, please email me or set up a zoom meeting and we can find some common interests.
PLEASE REMEMBER – Whatever you research should be before 1920. Any commentary on events after 1920, will not count.
