This assignment meets the following course and student learning objectives:
1. Submit a scholarly paper detailing the results of your literature search of at least four (4) articles to answer your PICOT question. (Course Objectives 4 and Student Learning Outcomes 2, 3, 4, and 5)
Find four research articles that address your PICOT question. Please write a 1-2 page summary, that includes all the information obtained from all four of the articles you found that address your PICOT question. The paper should include the following components:
- Title Page
- Introduction including a thesis statement
- Summary of information (see below)
- Conclusion
- References
The body of the paper should include:
- PICOT question (Use the correct PICOT format)
- Background of the issue being researched (Why are you interested in this question?)
- The value the information will provide to your clinical practice (The answer to the PICOT question should contribute evidence to support better practice in the clinical area)
- Link the problem with the evidence-based practice in your articles (How do the articles address the issue; what supports a change or continuation of current practice?)
- How the information will impact patient care and patient outcomes on your unit (Will the information improve patient outcomes or address a problem in the nurse’s workplace?)
- How the information in the flyer will be shared with your peers or staff on your unit. (Huddle, Staff Meeting)
