Submission:

Upload a ZIP folder including the source code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and a Word document with the details outlined in part 4, along with the URL to access the webpage from the internet.

Part 1: Create a web map.

Make a web map with two layers of data showing a topic of your interest: The web map can use WMS, WFS standards or both. The data should be stored in PostGIS.

• If your data is very detailed and complex, consider generalising it for performance reasons.
• Consideration should be given to proper classification, symbology, style, and general layout.
• Also consider other elements that usually integrate maps such as: title, scale, legend, and sources.
• Apply appropriate coding standards by using each type of file that compose the web map for its main purpose. For example, do not include unnecessary CSS nor JavaScript in your HTML file.

Part 2: Integrate the map into a webpage.

Add your web map into a webpage explaining in detail the topic chosen in part 1. It should have at least a title, different sections, paragraphs, illustrative graphics, pictures, and videos, so that the public finds it an interesting and easy to understand reading. Use your imagination to be creative, the better the website looks, the higher the marks.

Part 3 : Design more web maps and combine them to create a web atlas.

Create a set of web maps to explain the topic in depth. For instance, present the outcomes of some spatial analysis, or show in larger scale those areas where the matter studied requires it. Consider using different types of base maps and not just OpenStreetMap. Use your webpage as a common thread to bind the maps. Bring your project to a higher level, but find a good balance minding the deadline.
