Watch a TED Talk OR a movie of substance, English homework help

  • Watch a TED Talk OR a movie of substance and write a 1-2 page review of the film. Be sure to include actors, genre, date of release, rating, and brief but specific highlights of the film. DO NOT SUMMARIZE!! (Fine, also, if you review a television or Netflix series, but again: be sure that the series is worth reviewing.)
  • Try a new restaurant and write a review of it. Look online to read a few other reviews (The Pitch, for example, reviews restaurants in every edition, and those papers are free at many stores). Convince us that we should try it, or not. Pictures are a nice addition and encouraged.
  • Attend a community event in Kansas City (play, speaker, concert, athletic event, visit to a museum, or other) and write a review of this event. (The Nelson Atkins Museum is a top-notch museum and is free. Go visit and write about your experience!)
  • Write a letter or postcard of complaint or praise to a business. Be specific about your experience. Simply print out the letter and I’ll mail it myself.

All extra credit work must be typed, double-spaced, MLA formatting, and due on or (preferably) before Monday November 12, 2016 . Your work must be appropriate college-level writing, free of grammatical errors and fully developed with appropriate content. See me with questions.
