Critiquing Policy
You are a public health educator who works primarily in policy development and advocacy. You plan to bring some new policy amendments up for consideration. For this Assessment, you will locate a public health policy that impacts the sub-section of the healthcare field in which you plan to work or currently work. This can be a local, state, or workplace policy. As an example of a workplace policy, consider a policy where a hospital will not hire candidates that are smokers. You may also choose to look at larger policies like those related to pollution or pesticide use. For assistance in locating an appropriate policy, navigate health departments, websites, and workplace employee handbooks. You may also choose to search using the following websites:
- National Conference of State Legislators. (2019). Public health and public health policy. Retrieved from http://www.ncsl.org/research/health/public-health-…
- Healthfinder.gov. (2019). State health departments. Retrieved from https://healthfinder.gov/findservices/searchcontex…
- Public Health Institute. (2013). Health in all policies: A guide for state and local government. Retrieved from http://www.phi.org/resources/?resource=hiapguide

Create a PowerPoint presentation in which you will provide a full analysis of the selected policy that is aimed at a specific intended audience, as well as recommendations for improving upon it. Your presentation must include narration on each slide. The narration should include what you would say if you were giving your presentation live. In addition, you will submit a written transcript of the narration. Follow the guidelines below while creating your presentation.
