Walden University Birth of The New Psychology and Its Implications After the World Wars Paper

Prior to World War I, psychology had been largely perceived and practiced as an academic discipline. German psychologist Hugo Münsterberg, considered the founder of applied psychology, broke new ground, however, and his influence on the field of psychological testing was to have far-reaching effects on educational and other types of testing that are still evolving today. Other theorists were also instrumental in expanding the field of applied psychology through mental testing. This week, you will explore how certain theorists played a key role in this burgeoning testing field and how psychological testing expanded into other professions such as business and education.

For this Discussion, choose one of the theorists of the new applied psychology other than Münsterberg.
