A strategic goal for my practicum organization
A major challenge that I noticed within my practicum organization is a lack of funding or grant opportunities, especially for an organization that is nonprofit, and the goal is to improve the health of underserved populations by providing low-cost services. My goal or strategy is to research multiple grants and funding sources through various private and federal outlets. I will be applying to 2-3 grants per week and logging those names and information and the type of grants so I ca add the information as part of my public health practicum portfolio (Commonwealth Fund Organization, 2021).
How do these goals relate to national e-health priorities and health IT goals for improving public and population health?
The purpose of this goal is that the more funding the organization acquires, the more services they can provide. For example, a national health priority and health IT goal for improving public and population health is telehealth and that is an approach the organization partakes in. They provide services in various states, such as Texas, Florida, and more. If they are awarded a grant, they can apply for licenses to practice in more states, because it cost money to acquire these licenses and the funding will allow the organization to utilize more telemedicine platforms to reach a wider demographic (Commonwealth Fund Organization, 2021).
