Using computational software

  • This shelter-in-place exam allows you to use any resources you deem necessary to solve each problem, EXCEPT consultation with another individual. Any evidence of sharing or collaborating with another student or ANY individual will result in a failing grade. Please be careful with online sources of information. I have found that MOST, if not ALL, solutions obtained by online searching (google, Chegg, etc.) are incorrect. Use of these by students has resulted in poor exam grades.
  • You may solve the problems by your choice of hand solutions or using computational software EXCEPT where use of computational software is explicitly stated as a requirement.
  • ALL OF YOUR SOLUTIONS SHALL BE NEATLY ORGANIZED AND EASY TO READ. BOX EACH OF YOUR ANSWERS WITH THE CORRESPONDING PROBLEM NUMBER (E.G. “2b:”) AND OF COURSE, WITH APPROPRIATE, CORRECT UNITS. For MATLAB, show each answer, with units, using “fprintf” so the answers are at the end of the code for each problem section.
  • Organize and compile your complete solutions, converting all into ONE PDF document for upload. Be sure your LAST NAME is IN THE FILE NAME that you upload, and it is a good idea to be sure your name is on the document itself (top page is OK).
