USC Romantic Period Composers Discussion

The Romantic Period in Music History (approx 1820-1900) saw the rise of “Celebrity pianist/ composers” such as Franz Liszt and Frederic Chopin. It also saw the advent of Music Criticism as an occupation (Robert Schumann), the rise of women composers, (Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann), and the ballet ( Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky).

Choose 3 of the following Romantic Period composers. Write an initial post of approx. 150 words. (Fifty words for each composer would be wonderful, but there is a little give and take here). Write about the person, their country of origin, when they lived, any personal challenges they may have had and music, or musical innovations they are famous for). Their is plenty of information about each Romantic Period composer, so I do believe you will have no problem coming up with the required amount of words. Two follow up posts of 75 words each should be posted by Sunday night at 11:59 PM.
