Parts USA (PUSA) manufactures subassemblies for large automobile manufacturing companies. As a recent graduate in business, you are asked to study the present situation and make recommendations to PUSA regarding what would be required to develop an MIS to automate the order system and provide a decision support system (DSS) to PUSA executive management. You have been asked to document what would be needed to implement such a system.

Part I – You will develop an outline of the plan to meet the schedule. Develop the plan in Microsoft Excel.

Part 2 –  You need to write a general plan of the infrastructure required to support the MIS at PUSA. Create the plan in a Microsoft Word document of approximately 6 to 10 pages in length. In your document, include the following:

• The business processes to be automated along with the supporting infrastructure required to support the information system.
• The interaction of both PUSA employees and the customers with the new system.
• Possible ethical and social issues that may be inherent in such a system, and how those issues will be addressed.
• The use of technology to complete the implementation, including hardware, networks, and electronic communications.

Part 3 –  You will plan the database and network needed to implement the PUSA MIS.
Create the plan in a Microsoft Word document by specifying:

• What data will be needed for the PUSA MIS?
• Where will the data come from?
• How will the data be transmitted?
• How and where will the data be stored?

In addition, draw a simple network design connecting PUSA headquarters to each of the three plants and showing how customers may access the PUSA system via the Internet. You can use Microsoft Visio, the Flowcharting feature of Microsoft Word, or hand draw and scan the design.

Combine all of your documents into a zipped folder and submit the plans along with the sample database tables and the network design to the W3: Assignment 2 Dropbox by Tuesday, August 5, 2014.
