Part 1: Responding to Davis
For our Essay 1 coming up, you will write a literary argument! To get us practicing, I am asking you to write an argumentative post this week. You will make a claim, support it with textual evidence, and explain how the evidence helps to support your argument.
In 2-3 paragraphs totaling at least 300 words, answer the following question:
Do you feel that Deb and Hugh received the appropriate fates for their crimes?
Be sure to address both of their crimes and both of their ultimate fates here. Use at least TWO quotes from Davis’s text to support your reasoning using correct MLA formatting.
To cite a direct quote, you should format it by putting the quote in quotation marks and putting the author’s last name and page number in parentheses like this: “quote” (Davis 26).
