Infographic Flyer: Tips and Resources
PURPOSE OF INFOGRAPHICS:
Create an Infographic addressing the 4 objectives below pertaining to our criminal justice
Infographics are visually appealing, easy-to-read flyers that present data accurately and ethically. This assignment will enhance your analytic, creative, and presentation skills through a nontraditional assignment that can be accessed for years to come: an infographic. We live in an advancing technological world where people seek to gain information quickly. By creating an infographic, you will develop your own informed opinions about a controversial issue and convey your findings to others.
The final assessment, students should be sure to tap into each of the four (4) course learning objectives that are listed:
- Explain the role of racism, unconscious biases, and stereotypes/controlling narratives in various stages of the criminal justice system.
- Explain social and structural factors that lead to crime and the criminalization of marginalized groups.
- Analyze how the carceral state imposes and perpetuates disparities across race, class, and gender.
- Articulate the lived experience of criminal justice-involvement from an intersectional perspective.
EVERYTHING STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT AS PART OF THE INFOGRAPHIC OPTION:
(1) the infographic flyer and (2) Reference page of at least 5 class resources (which should also be clearly referenced and connected within the infographic).
