Write a 5-page paper that explores a lesser-known example of social justice activism (the topics you can choose from include: the peace movement, anti-nuclear movement, the Gray Panthers, AIDS activism, Asian American activism, the Red Power movement, the Chicano rights movement, the welfare rights movement, or the labor movement). This paper will explore the activism – the social movement organizations formed, what strategies they used to generate attention to their cause, the successes of the activism, and reaction to the movement. This is NOT a paper that explores the inequality that resulted in the activism. It is a paper about people mobilizing to fight for justice (5 pages of content, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, 1” margins). Your paper must be cohesive, well-researched, and well-written. You must use at least 6 academic sources and cite them appropriately, using ASA formatting style. An academic source is a book or an academic journal article ONLY; you are free to use popular press sources; they just do not count as one of your six required sources.
