format it under six steps, so that’s how I’ll do it here.
- Choose a question where you have multiple options for the solution. (Ie. What do I want for lunch?)
- Pick out some (3) categories that can act as criteria for this. (Ie. Price, how good is the food, how far is it, how hungry am I)
- Rank those categories, 3 being the one you care about most and 1 being the one you care about the least. (Ie. How good is the food 3, price 2, distance 1)
- Choose three options you can do to answer the question. (Ie. Food places)
- Put each option under each category and rank them (higher number is better) by how well they satisfy that category (Ie. Time: Papa John’s 2, Soda Nerd 1, Snack 3. Here I’m ranking them by how much time they save me. Just eating a snack saves me more time than going to Soda Nerd or Pizza. I have my other categories done the same way.)
- Multiply the category ranking by the option ranks in that category. Then, for each option, add their numbers from under each category. Whatever has the highest number is the best option. (Ie. Time 2: Papa John’s 2 × 2 = 4, Soda Nerd 1 × 2 = 2, Snack 3 × 2 = 6 for the multiplication. Then I add the Soda Nerd score from each category: Soda Nerd 6 + 2 + 2 = 10. That isn’t the highest number, so it didn’t win.)
