University of the Potomac Law Fight Against Terrorism Discussion Question

Here is the discussion question: What role do allies of the U.S. government play in helping the fight on terrorism? Provide an example of how the two allies work together.

First reply:

Allies from other nations play a very important role in helping fight terrorism, and protect the national security of the United States. The next terrorist attack will likely come in the form of cyber terrorism, because of the advancements of technology, and most of the world’s commerce will be web-based delivery and payments. This means counter terrorists’ agencies around the world will have to collaborate in the form of gathering intelligence and sharing this with their counterparts.

Offenders, and organizations that engage in terrorism have sophisticated equipment and tactics, which require them be well organized, and well-funded. Because of this many nations that have an interest in combating these terrorist threats have an incentive to become allies in the battle against these threats. With these nations becoming allies they share information such as CCTV, and criminal history of the offenders. Along with sharing critical intelligence gathered from investigations. Also, creating task force that specifically work with other agencies in collaboration to combat all forms of terrorism, and protect the national security of all allies involved.

Allies are a vital part of ensuring that the U.S. Government can fight and defeat the terrorist. Without our allies, we wouldn’t be able to have proper staging or command and control over high terrorist activity locations throughout the world. The USA currently has 23 countries which we have allied treaties with those allies to help support the geography. The professional and collective fundamentals are what help other allies support the USA against terrorist groups. If we look at World War two, there is no way that the United States of America would have been successful without its allies. The flight in Europe and the flight in the pacific a short time after the end of the Nazi rain. If we look at the current conflict, we can think about the allies we have in Kuwait and Germany who both support the flight on terrorism by having major military posts in their country.
