Please write 2 pages on prosthetic manufacturing plus 1-2 slides on that. like: What materials are used and does it have to be specifically based on design decision? Cost of those materials? Do they manufacture all those parts for mass production or it has to be specialized for each user? Explain the manufacturing process and problems related to this process, if any–figures and visuals should be included. You must show critical thinking that considers the entire system and process, not just the end product.
Examples for consideration: Lithium ion batteries require lithium. How is it mined? What happens to the lithium between the mine and battery production? Is it a sustainable practice? Why or why not? They sometimes require cobalt. How is that mined? Is there a plan to eliminate the need for cobalt?
How are solar panels made? What resources do they require? What kind of installation work and apparatus is involved? How much do they cost? How long do they last? How does this process change the savings on electricity over time? —you must consider the savings over 5 years vs the savings over 20 years.
Electric cars require electricity to charge. Where does this electricity come from? Is it from coal? Is the energy needed to charge the cars sustainable?
What kind of building process is involved in tidal dams and turbines? How does this process change the cost and emissions due to hydropower? What about maintenance?
How does the manufacturing process change the “clean” properties of solar, water, and lithium-ion energy products? (In other words, you can’t just say that solar technology is entirely clean, and you can’t say that running an electric car produces no carbon emissions, you can’t say that because tidal or running water energy is free, it doesn’t cost anything to collect.) You will need to research what must be done to a reusable product to make it reusable after it is used. Is the recycling process expensive or dirty (requiring a lot of carbon emissions)?
