find two artistic representations (statues, mosaics, paintings, etc.) of the same ancient Greek or Roman deity online. These can be two different examples from the ancient world, or you may alternatively select one ancient and one modern example that utilize this same deity. In about 250-500 words, please provide a comparison of your two examples (form, genre, purpose, associated myth, etc.). Ideally, you might select two artistic examples that are very different, so that you might think about the possible reasons behind these differences. If you select one modern example, then you might also want to think about how the deity’s representation has changed or stayed the same in its new context.
There are a variety of useful databases online where you can locate images of ancient art. If you decide to utilize a site like “Arachne” then just simply type in a deity’s name and you will have access to a large quantity of relevant examples. Please try to attach the two images that you are using within your submission (at the very least, offer URL links to their online images if you have trouble attaching the actual images).
