We now know that environmental factors influence the odds of an individual developing certain types of cancers and that all cancers are characterized by genetic mutations. For this assignment, you are to select one type of cancer to research and report on the following:
1) What do we know about the genetics of the type of cancer selected?
2) What influence, if any, are environmental factors or an infectious agent?
3) What are the symptoms?
4) What are the treatments?
5) What are the survivability rates, once you are diagnosed?
6) To conclude, give your personal opinion on whether or not you believe gene therapy or genetic engineering should be used to develop cures for cancer?
