Middle adulthood, or midlife, refers to the period of the lifespan between early adulthood and late adulthood. Although ages and tasks are culturally defined, the most common age definition is from 40-45 to 60-65. Research on this developmental period is relatively new as many aspects of midlife are still being explored.

Answer & respond to the following prompt(s) below:

  1. On page 311, there is a discussion detailing the health concerns of middle adulthood. Choose one of the different health concerns (one of the following: heart disease, hyptertension, cancer, cholesterol, or diabetes) and answer: Why is this a serious health concern facing those in middle adulthood? How can those in middle adulthood combat this health issue?
  2. On page 348, these is a discussion detailing the lifestyles & relationships for those in middle adulhood. What are a few trends that our textbook identifies in terms of singlehood? Marriage? Divorce? Rates of marriage? Be specific. Do you see these trends play out in your own life and/or the lives of those in middle adulthood around you?

As always, I look forward to reading your responses! You will need to make an initial post (at least 500 words) to the assigned prompt. In addition, you will need 3 responses (at least 200 words each) to your fellow classmates in order to receive full credit.
