I’m working on a health & medical multi-part question and need an explanation to help me learn.

The Public Health Agency of Canada cooperated in research on Salmonella infections in 7 provinces with provincial public health partners. From April 2017 to November 2020, many people became sick. In the areas of British Colombia (121), Alberta (293), Manitoba (26), Ontario (14), Quebec (25), Saskatchewan (35), and Prince Edward Island, there have all been 515 cases of Salmonella-Typhimurium disease (1). 79 people were hospitalized, and 3 deaths were reported, but Salmonella was not the cause. Persons ill were between the ages of 1 and 100 years, mostly women (54 percent). In children aged ten years and younger one-third of the reported disease occurred. Salmonella typhimurium is a common strain in Canada and is reported to the Public Health Agency of Canada in an average of 750 cases per year.
