University of Massachusetts WTO & Junk Food Labels Discussion & Reply

PART 1:PLease review the following article, Members discuss guidelines for trade-friendly regulation and STOP sign for ‘junk food’. Refer back to the article as needed when responding to the following Discussion Board Question.

As non-tariff trade barriers become more widely recognized and the corresponding impacts are calculated, the World Trade Organization has become increasingly more active in its regulation. Do you think the WTO should be involved in regulating such issues as whether Chile is justified in requiring warning labels on junk food? Be sure to look at the other countries facing similar scrutiny for similar policies.
