For the Final Project, students will choose a topic in the history of science, from 1700 to the present, and produce a lecture about that topic. If you choose a topic that we also cover in class, then you will need to cover the topic in greater depth or from a new perspective.
Guidelines:
- Your lecture should include a presentation (slides) and a voice recording of you.
- If you’re unsure about how you might do this, here’s a quick resource: How to do a slide + narration video
- You must upload the video to YouTube or another video server, and the video must be accessible to anyone with the link (recommended YouTube privacy level would be Unlisted)
- You must include at least one image and cite its source.
- You need to cite at least three peer-reviewed secondary sources.
- Course materials (including lectures) will NOT count toward your required sources.
- Cite your sources on a final slide at the end of your lecture using Chicago style citation format.
- Your lecture should last between 5-8 minutes.
- You must respond to at least two of your peers.
- In your lecture and your peer responses, you should address all of the questions listed in the rubrics. (These rubrics can be found in the Syllabus.)
- One way to make sure you address all of these questions is to use the main questions as the headers for slides. It is not mandatory that you do this, but some students have found it helpful in the past.
