Leading and Managing the Team

Educational Leadership and Team Management from a Diversity Perspective—A Case Study of School Principals in the ——–

Schools play the most integral role in shaping human life, not only because of the cross-culture interactions that students have but also because of career shaping. In this case, school management becomes one of the most critical factors in any school set. Teachers, through their leaders, must constantly devise methods of ensuring higher standards and better management of the entire school, from the students to the subordinates. For many years, stakeholders have been working independently in the sector. However, contemporary advancements have seen principals devise new and better methods of running the school better. This research investigates the role of educational leadership and team management from a diversity perspective, using a case study of school principals in the ——–.

Statement of the problem

Leadership is one of the most integral aspects of the human setup. As per Leicher and Muller (2016), it comprises the ability to influence behavior, attitude, and thoughts. From classrooms to the workplace and households, leadership and management play a critical part. With the general acceptance of the effectiveness of teams as opposed to individuals, more organizations are focusing on enabling employees to work as teams to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Curseu (2015) states that for a team to be effective, the team leader has to create a bond between the team members. Additionally, there must be an appreciation for the diversity within the team (Curseu, 2015). Eacott (2011) adds that in the ever-changing dynamics of the workplace, versatility is key. Leicher and Muller (2016) add that leadership and management seek to point teams in a unified direction and harness their effort. It is thus important to understand the factors that contribute to effective and efficient team leadership and management.
