How did you see yourself as a writer before this course?

As you moved through the course, what elements of your writing did you learn needed improvement (provide examples)?

What strategies helped and why (provide examples)?

What activities didn’t work so well and why?

In the near future, what do you hope to remember as a writer when you engage within your professional writing situations?

To answer the bullet points above, think about the following writing elements that have been in many of the rubrics and have been discussed throughout the semester:

Addressing the audience: How did you reach the appropriate audience and satisfy their needs?

Rhetorical situation: How did your writing take into account the whole writing situation including the audience’s needs, writing purpose and writing context?

Organization: Consider the overall readability of your writings (paragraph order, sentence structure, transitions etc.). How did this suit optimal flow and coherence?

Design: Did your writings take into consideration best practices for document design (using headings, bullet points, subheadings etc.)?

Conciseness and Clarity: Did you consider the sentence structure strategies for professional writing (active voice, limited jargon, concrete nouns up front etc.)?

Editing: Did you give yourself ample time to read through and edit the document multiple times for various purposes? If not, how would you change your editing process going forward?
