- Find any news story from within the past two years that describes a data mining success. This can be from any field — business, politics, entertainment, sports, etc. Write a paragraph that summarizes the story, and another personal reaction paragraph that includes your own insights, key takeaways, and favorite (or least favorite) aspects of the story.
- Why is data normalization important? If you were building a model that analyzed people’s habits based on age and income, what would happen if you did not first normalize the values for age and income? Which variable would dominate the model?
- Using the ggplot2 data visualization package in R, generate a faceted data visualization. Display both your code and your results in your post, and use a few written sentences to describe your plot.
