In this discussion, you will select a client organization and a specific goal for a communication campaign that you will develop for the client. You will continue to develop the topic in the discussion this week, and once you have finalized your selection, you will use that scenario when completing the written assignments throughout the semester. (The written assignments all contribute toward the development of a comprehensive Strategic Communication Plan. In your discussion response:
List the client organization and specific goal for the communication campaign. Include a brief explanation about why you selected this organization and communication goal.
Review the Behavior Change Theories listed in Appendix 1 in the O’Sullivan et al. textbook (A Field Guide to Designing a Health Communication Strategy) and select one group of theories to research further. (Also see the resources listed in the Week 2 Lecture, located under the Weekly Lessons link on the course page.)
Select one theory that is relevant to your organization/goal. Briefly explain the concepts that comprise the theory.
Discuss how/whether the theory can serve as a guide as you develop a Strategic Communication Plan for your particular client organization/communication goal.
Discuss any limitations of the theory, or any relevant communication elements that are not included in the concept, that could impact your strategic approach when developing a communication campaign for your client organization.
