Since Week 3, when you did your first diet analysis, you have probably made some changes in your eating pattern. Now is the time to reassess and reevaluate your intake of energy from the three macronutrients: carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. This is your only written assignment for this week, and you will use the results for several assignments next week and in Learning Module III, so you’ll want to be as accurate and thorough as possible.
- Track a minimum of three days of everything you eat and drink. Enter the data into AnalyzeMyDiet.
- Generate two reports: the Single Nutrient report for protein and a Calorie Assessment report.
- Compare the data in the reports with the Calorie Assessment you generated in PNJ 1 ***NOTE I have Attahced PNJ 1***
- In your discussion, address the following questions:
- How does your protein intake for these three days compare with your protein intake in Week 3?
- Was most of your protein intake this week from meat, fish, dairy, or plant-based foods, such as grains or legumes?
- Is the proportion of protein intake compared to fat and carb intake within the recommended guidelines? Give the percentage of your total intake that was derived from foods that supplied protein.
- Considering your current activity level and health status, do you feel that you are meeting your individual protein needs? Or do you think you are taking in a disproportionate amount of protein relative to fats and carbs. Explain why you responded as you did.
- Do you take any protein supplements on a regular basis? If so, identify the source of the protein. (This does not refer to protein bars or shakes that you were able to include in your intake report for this assignment. It refers to extra protein supplements from GNC or other nutrition sources that are taken in pill or liquid form that were not included in your diet analysis.)
