Problem Statement and Research Questions(objectives 1,2,3,4,5,6)For this assignment, students are invited to identify and articulate a problem facing those in their field or to identify a gap in the existing literature. A problem statement starts off with a broad issue and then, step by step, guides the reader to the purpose of the study and to his/or her research questions and study objectives. To prepare you for this assignment, the instructor will present several good problem statements and then the class will discuss in depth the elements that make for a quality statement. Students will turn in problem statement assignments to the instructor and feedback will be provided. Students may then use this feedback to revise and resubmit as part of the larger research proposal due at the end of the semester.
