are considered within philosophy as a discipline and Religious Ethics?
Contrast a religious ethic of virtue with a religious ethic of obligation?
Give an example of each. Also give an example a religious leader or
hero/shero who has served as a virtuous model. Which virtues does
he or she exemplify?
How does natural law figure in as a source of moral guidance? Livingston
mentions Confucian and Catholic examples. To these I would add Native
American teachings on how humans learn moral action through studying
nature (creation).
How has an ethic of Divine Command served Judaism and Islam? What
Divine Command story did Kierkegaard wrestle with? What 20th century
issue are we still wrestling with?
How do religion, ethics, and climate change fit together?
Why might we need a new kind moral guidance and ethics to deal
with global scale problems like ecocide, genocide, and climate change?
How do you go about making moral decisions? Are you more inclined
to follow a virtue ethic? A moral leader? An ethic based on a conception
